a soprano, a bass, and a tenório
Spring Summer 2007's jaws dropped at the emergence of Supreme's beyond textbook-pretty girls: Alana Zimmer, Johanna Stickland, Anna Barsukova, Cecilia Mendez, Daiane Conterato, Hanne Gaby Odiele and Suvi Koponen all logged serious runway mileage, in addition to Behati Prinsloo and Rachel Alexander's semi-established client base.
Paul Rowland definitely scouts all corners of the globe, from staple modeling breeding grounds Canada, Russia, and Brazil to new hotspots like Argentina, Belgium, and Finland. What intrigues me with Supreme's mannequins is that they always have something incredibly off with their faces, but it's that genius kind of aberration that paves the smoothest paths to all the right runways.
With all my raving, Supreme is not where I found the most captivating face as of late. It's very close, though. Supreme's sister agency, Women, represents Brazilian Bruna Tenório. Basing from her polas, I would've pegged her as a Supreme girl, projecting a very earthy feel with her relaxed posing and geek-chic glasses. She walked all the major cities and for top designers, from 3.1 Phillip Lim to Zac Posen.
So cool. She looks like she might be part Asian, don't you think?

older for younger
I find it a little disturbing that Perth-born model Gemma Ward (IMG), 18, has been dancing with Dr. Ross aka Danny Ocean, 45. Equally (if not more) disturbing is Deutsches Modell Julia Stegner (Women), 21, riding cars and playing chess with the fifth James Bond, 53. Why? The older actors could very well be the younger models' fathers. Geez. But hey, beautiful pictures.
George Clooney shares the November 2006 cover of Vanity Fair with Gemma's beautiful back. I see a little reference to Jackie O and to Swedish actresses of the 1930s and 1940s like Greta Garbo and Ingrid Bergman. I like, I like.

On a darker, more mature note, British apparel and accessories house Aquascutum employed Brosnan and Stegner to look very double-oh-seven, although that title now belongs to Daniel Craig. On the last picture, she's wearing a Canterbury shirt and a Spot tie. Take note, his Canterbury shirt and Spot tie.

Anyway, this whole older celebrity-younger model thing reminds me back in 2002 when Swedish model Caroline Winberg (IMG), then17, accused Mick Jagger, then 59, of pestering her with calls on her mobile.
Which brings me to a hilarious quote from Jerry Hall, (she should know) saying that her "mother said it was simple to keep a man, you must be a maid in the living room, a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom. I said I'd hire the other two and take care of the bedroom bit."
Caroline definitely declined to do all of the above, even the bedroom bit.

Of course, Kayako-san has Toshio and all her other minions as backup, but then Leatherface has his own cannibalistic posse and a chainsaw. Man, I should give the crappy horror genre a break.
Carol celebrated her 18th birthday a week early, which fits my schedule perfectly seeing as next week is death week for me. Moving on. Okay, so it was kind of a repeat of last Friday with three more people this time, but I actually had more fun even though I'm sick. I was probably relishing the fact that I was celebrating someone else getting older.
You had to be there when she had one foot in the men's restroom (and I had to ruin it again, I should've not said anything, darn it!). She did not realize she was about to see urinals and urinal cakes. Remember to read next time, Agwire!
We saw Regina King buying a movie ticket with another female! This was at Pacific Paseo Theatres in Pasadena. She was dressed in a white tank top and sweatpants and she seemed like she was in a hurry to catch the movie. Shyea.
Oh and today, I was wearing a male version blend of Chloé's wide-leg paperbag waist pants and flat front pants except mine had little box pleats with deep pockets. Teehee. Geriatric chic at its best (or worst), depending on who you ask, but totally the antithesis of skinny jeans.
